McKinney is a city Collin County, Texas (USA). From the 2000 census, the city's total population was 54,369, while estimates of its 2004 population of over 90,000. It is the county seat and is Collin CountyGR6 northern suburb of Dallas. According to the census, McKinney was the fastest-growing city among cities of the United States, 2000-2003 more than 50,000 people. This is due to the fact that McKinney is currently in the development of fast-growing northeastern edge of the North Dallas suburbs. As the amount of land available in the city limits of McKinney is likely to reach a final population of over 300,000.

McKinney and Collin County is named after Collin McKinney, one of the five men who drafted the Texas Independence and the oldest of 59 men who signed it.

McKinney in the Dallas Revolution, Independent Women's Football League team, and is home to the Central Park Campus of Collin County Community College District, opened the first campuses CCCCD.

It is 18,186 households, of which 45.1% were under the age of 18 living with them 63.6% were married couples living together, 9.5% were women householder with no husband present, and 23.2% were non-families. 19.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.89 and the average family size was 3.29.

In fact, the population of the city spread out with 30.9% less than 18-9.3% 18-24, 36.4% 25-44, 16.5% in the 45 to 64, and 6.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The average age was 31 years. For every 100 females were 102.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, was 99.4 for men.

The average income for a household in the city was $ 63,366 and the median income for a family was $ 72,133. Males had an average income $ 50,663 versus $ 32,074 for females. Per capita income in the city was $ 28,185. Approximately 4.9% of families and 8.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 9.2% under the age of 18 and 7.9% of those 65 or more.
