Denton is the county seat of Denton County, Texas, USA. Located at the northern edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area in accordance with the 2000 U.S. Census, the population was 80,537, but the population is estimated to have increased in 2004-05 to just over 100,000 people, making it one of the fastest growing cities in the United States.
